Emerald City Earrings

July 31, 2012

A very special client recently asked me to create an elegant pair of earrings for her that was somehow “Seattle,” and the Emerald City earrings were born!

These feature hand-textured fine silver with a brushed finish, handmade oversized sterling silver ear wires, 14k gold-filled embellishments and deep green emerald cubes. Who knew hometown pride could be so fancy!

Winter Jewelry Sale @ Kathy Casey Food Studios

December 11, 2011

In a very happy stroke of fate, two of the things I love most — jewelry and food — will be coming together on Saturday, December 17th. I’m very excited to be joining chef and cocktail extraordinaire Kathy Casey at her Holiday Extravaganza, an annual event where she opens her Ballard food studio to the public for a day of tasting and shopping. If you’ve never had the opportunity to see this gorgeous space, this is one not to miss.

I’ll be there throughout the day with lots of really lovely winter designs from Seventy-Eight: I’ve been having a great time with brushed silver, which has such a stunning gleam to it, and mixed metals in neutral, wear-with-everything shades with materials like matte-finished onyx, beach glass and hand-cut leather.

I will also for the first time be offering the earrings that started this all to all of my customers — the custom pair I made for Kathy earlier this year (she wanted big and chunky with black leather!) that she tells me she wears pretty much every day (aw!). Anyone who purchases a pair of the Kathy Earrings will get a second piece of Seventy-Eight jewelry at 30% off! Yeehaw!

In addition to great stuff for food lovers’ stockings, Frantic Foodie Keren Brown will be in the house signing copies of her latest book, Food Lover’s Guide to Seattle. Yup, I’m pretty much going to be in heaven.

I hope to see you there!

Dragon Festival, July 9-10

July 9, 2011

I’m very excited to have been invited to set up a booth at the Dragon Festival in the International District this year. This is going to be so much fun: Taiko drummers, Dragon dancers, Godzilla in the park and a killer $2 food walk that I’m already salivating over. I’m sharing my booth with my mister and his awesome screenprinting shop, Clone Press, which will have lots of hand-printed home decor and great shirts.

I’ve been busy working up some very colorful, summery designs! You can find us on S. King St and Maynard Ave all weekend.

Chef Kathy Casey rockin’ Seventy-Eight

July 9, 2011

An extra-chunky custom pair of black leather Hi-Ho Silver earrings for the very fabulous chef extraordinaire, Kathy Casey:

And yes, when I delivered them to her at her Liquid Kitchen studio in Ballard, she did feed me. And it was very good liquid.

Two new boutiques

April 11, 2011

I guess there’s just something about horses. I’m very pleased to announce that Seventy-Eight jewelry can now be found at both Ponytail Jewelry Studio in Ballard and Show Pony in Fremont. Maybe it’s because I was born in 1978, the Year of the Horse?! Who knows. But I like it.

I’m so thrilled to be joining three other lovely ladies this weekend at Show Pony for a Spring show. In addition to Seventy-Eight jewelry, you can get your paws on Daly Bird’s killer rock star leather earrings, Pirouette soaps and perfumes (YUM) and Revival Ink screenprinted garments.

I’ve been such a crazy little work elf to get ready I almost feel like I should be wearing pointy shoes… but Spring has brought on some inspiration indeed and I can’t wait to share! Here are a few more new pieces that will be joining the ones in my previous post. Hope to see you Saturday!

Good news on two fronts: 1) the sun came out today; and 2) I was invited to one of my favorite lovely shops for a trunk show! Check back for details on a Seventy-Eight sale on March 19 at Show Pony. In the meantime, here’s what I’ve been working on. Hope you enjoyed the blue sky as much as I did!

So exciting! This weekend, Seventy Eight is very proud to be joining the brand-spankin’-new Highland Park Sunday Market. Our little booth will be stocked full of market-friendly jewelry (a few of my recent designs below, plus a whole lotta new, summery ones with great price points), as well as fabulous textiles from Clone Press (tote bags, napkins, quilts and T’s), all locally screenprinted and handmade.

This is the opening weekend for West Seattle/White Center’s newest market, and we’re thrilled to be able to help kick it off.  Stop by and say hello!
